Terms of Use
Note. The full End-User License Agreement is presented and accepted inside the App on first launch. This page reproduces those terms for reference and for the Microsoft Store listing. If anything here differs from the version shown in the App at install time, the in-App version you accepted governs.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, acquiring, installing, launching, or using an application published by LITTLEBITOFPERIL AI LLC (“the Software”), you agree to these Terms of Use — whether or not you were also asked to click “I Agree” in the application, and however you obtained it (Microsoft Store, direct download, or a sideloaded package), paid or free.
If you do not agree, do not download, install, or use the Software, and uninstall it if you already have.
2. License
LITTLEBITOFPERIL AI LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, for your own lawful purposes, subject to these Terms and the terms of the store through which you obtained it.
3. AI-generated content — accuracy disclaimer
The Software uses artificial intelligence to generate text, summaries, citations, code, and images. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, biased, or simply wrong. It may state false information confidently or fabricate sources. You are responsible for independently verifying any output before relying on it, especially for academic, professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety-related purposes. The Software is a tool to assist your work, not a substitute for your own judgment.
3a. You must check its work
Aura is a study aid, not an authority, and its output is not professional advice of any kind. You agree to verify any fact, figure, quotation, or citation before relying on it or passing it to anyone else, and to seek qualified human judgment for decisions with real academic, financial, legal, medical, or safety consequences. We are not liable for loss arising from reliance on unverified output.
4. Academic integrity
Aura and our other study tools are intended to help you learn, research, organize, and revise your own work. Submitting AI-generated work as your own may violate your institution's academic-integrity rules. You are solely responsible for complying with those rules, which vary by institution, course, and instructor, and which may require you to declare any AI assistance you used.
The Software is designed to refuse to produce work for submission — specifically, it is designed to decline to write essays, papers, or other graded written assignments; to decline to complete homework or problem sets; and to decline to answer test, quiz, or exam questions. In place of these it offers outlines, guiding questions, sources, explanations, practice questions, and feedback on work you wrote yourself.
These safeguards are implemented in the Software's own logic rather than as guidance we ask you to follow, and they do not depend on how a request is phrased or framed. We do not, however, represent that they cannot be circumvented. Aura runs locally on your device; modified installations are not supported and may bypass these safeguards. Circumventing or attempting to circumvent them is a breach of Section 5.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Software to create or distribute unlawful, harmful, harassing, infringing, or deceptive content, to attempt to defeat its safety features, or to violate the rights of others.
6. Third-party services
Certain features (web search, page retrieval, academic-database lookups) send requests directly from your device to third-party services. Your use of those results is also subject to those services' own terms. LITTLEBITOFPERIL AI LLC does not control and is not responsible for third-party services or content.
7. “As is” — no warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LITTLE BIT OF PERIL AI LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, OPPORTUNITY, OR ACADEMIC OR PROFESSIONAL STANDING, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
9. Modified versions
The Software runs locally and its files reside on your device. LITTLEBITOFPERIL AI LLC is not responsible for the behavior, security, or output of any copy of the Software that has been altered, patched, repackaged, or otherwise modified after installation.
If you or anyone else modifies, replaces, retrains, or reconfigures any part of the Software — including removing or weakening any safety, content, or academic-integrity control — it is no longer the product we published. All warranties, representations, and support obligations end immediately, and we disclaim all liability for that modified version and anything it produces or causes.
9a. Reverse engineering and model extraction
Except where such a restriction is prohibited by law, or expressly permitted by the license of a bundled open-source component, you must not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software; extract or redistribute the weights, architecture, or configuration of any bundled AI model beyond what that model’s own license allows; use the Software or its output to train or develop a competing model or product; or remove any license text, attribution, or proprietary notice.
9b. Limited liability company
LITTLEBITOFPERIL AI LLC is a limited liability company. To the maximum extent permitted by law, no member, manager, officer, employee, contractor, or agent bears any personal liability for claims relating to the Software. Any claim lies solely against the company and remains subject to Section 8.
10. Updates
We may release updates that add, change, or remove features. Updates are delivered through the store you installed from.
11. Termination
This license ends if you breach these Terms. On termination you must stop using and remove the Software. Sections 3, 7, 8, and 9 survive termination.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which LittleBitOfPeril AI LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The specific governing-law and dispute-resolution terms are stated in the in-App agreement.
13. Which document governs
This page is a summary for the web. The full Terms of Use / End-User License Agreement is presented for acceptance the first time you launch Aura and ships alongside the Software, together with a plain-language legal disclaimer. Where this page and the shipped Terms of Use differ, the shipped Terms of Use govern.
By downloading, acquiring, installing, or using the Software you agree to those Terms, whether or not you clicked “I Agree”.
