Our mission
To put powerful, private AI in everyone's hands — running on the devices they already own, answering to them alone.
We believe the most capable artificial intelligence should also be the most private. Too much of today's AI works by sending your questions, your documents, and your writing to someone else's servers, to be logged, analyzed, and used in ways you can't see. We think that trade is unnecessary.
So we build differently. Our applications run their AI models directly on your computer. There are no accounts to create, no usage is tracked, and there is no outside AI vendor in the loop. Your work stays in ordinary files on your own drive. When one of our apps does reach the internet — to run a web search you asked for, for example — it tells you, and that is the only thing that ever leaves your machine.
Starting with Aura, our academic assistant for students, we are building a family of applications that give people genuinely capable AI without asking them to surrender their privacy, their data, or their control to get it.

What we stand for
- Local by default. If a feature can run on your device, it does. The language model, speech recognition, and speech synthesis in our apps never touch the network.
- No hidden data flows. Every outbound request is one you initiated, and the app is honest about what it sends and where.
- No accounts, no telemetry. We don't build profiles of our users. We can't — we have no server collecting anything.
- Honest about limitations. AI gets things wrong. Our apps are built to show their sources, check their own work, and tell you when they're unsure.
- Yours to keep. Buy it once, install it, and it keeps working — offline, on your terms, with your files in folders you control.
- Lighter footprint. Local-first means no data-center round trip for every request. The most sustainable computing is the hardware that's already running — and we think that's worth the occasional reminder.
The company
LITTLEBITOFPERIL AI LLC is an independent software company. We publish our applications through trusted channels so you get verified, signed downloads and straightforward updates. Aura is a Windows app that will soon be available on the Microsoft Store. Our upcoming apps for other platforms — including Android on Google Play — will be listed here as they launch.
Aura is our first release. More applications are in development, each built on the same local-first principles.
Why “LittleBitOfPeril”? Because powerful technology always carries some. The name is a reminder — to us most of all — that our job is to build AI that earns trust instead of asking for it.
